The City of Richland Center, population 5,184, is a rural city located approximately 60 miles from both Madison and LaCrosse. There are many churches, a variety of parks and recreational opportunities, and is a safe place to raise a family.

The surrounding area is filled with artisans of architecture, crafts, theater, music, foods, and wineries. This community offers a relaxed environment centrally located near recreational destinations. The surrounding hills, valleys and trout streams offer beauty in all four seasons.

The Richland Center Police Department (RCPD) is active in creating and maintaining relationships with the community as shown through outreach programs like Community Safety Day, National Night Out, and a variety of educational programs within the Richland School District. Many of the police officers have grown up in the Richland Center area and now strive to protect and serve the community they love.
