The City of Richland Center is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to manage, supervise and coordinate the City’s Parks and Recreation programs and events. This department head position works closely with the school district and community groups to provide high quality programming for both youth and adults. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, budgeting experience, and must be open to adapting to meet the needs of our residents.

Requirements: Qualified candidates shall have graduated from a four year college or university with a degree in recreation, physical education, parks or leisure services or related field. A minimum of  five years related work experience and at least two years supervisory experience required. Local government experience preferred. Certifications: Aquatic Facility Operation Certification (AFO), Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and Certification in Parks and Recreation (CPRP), Certification in CPR/First Aid, Blood Born Pathogen Training, preferred or ability to obtain within six months. Valid Driver’s License required. Candidate must be available for duty beyond normal work day as required to attend public hearings or meetings related to the position. Starting wage for this salaried position will be commensurate with experience.
