The prairie on the site of the Old Mill Pond will be burned tonight 6pm.  The City is advising residents in the area to keep windows closed. Those who have health problems are advised to take special precautions. The burn should take around 2 hours.

The purpose of the burn is to establish the wild flowers that were planted in 2003. Burning helps to control the unwanted weeds and grasses, and helps in the germination of the wild flowers.

The burning will be done by the Richland Fire Department along with the parks department. For questions, please call the parks and grounds department at 604-6713.
