Brewer Public Library Summer Reading Program

Adventure Begins at Your Library! Summer Reading begins June 10th. The objective is to read twenty minutes six days per week. Stop in at the library to sign up and get a free bookmark and reading log. Prizes include swimming passes, pizza and ice cream coupons. Kids ages 6-18 will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 Amazon gift card.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

The concept is simple. The rewards are priceless! Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to read 1,000 books (yes, you can repeat books) before your little one starts Kindergarten. If you read just one book a night, you will have read 365 books in one year, 730 books in two years, and 1,095 books in three years. Log your reading in Beanstack and earn badges all along the way, or use paper tracking sheets available at the library.

At 100 books, children earn a book tote and sticker.
For every 100 books, they earn a sticker.
At 500 books, they earn an educational toy.
At 1000 books, they earn a book and certificate.

Smokey Bear Reading Challenge

Celebrate Smokey Bear’s 80th Birthday. Join Smokey in learning about wildfires and the environment. Read books, take action, and have fun! Kids earn badges and prizes as they read and take action. Get started today! More info at Smokeybear.com.
